Murderer of Tim Lopes selling drugs in Rio de Janeiro shantytown
ABRAJI

Elizeu Felicio de Souza, known as Zeu, was filmed openly selling drugs in the Morro do Alemão shantytown in Rio de Janeiro. De Souza had been sentenced to 23 years and six months in prison for his involvement in the 2002 murder of Tim Lopes.

The information was broadcast on Sunday (August 8) in a report in the program “Fantástico” aired by Rede Globo television that showed images of the sale of drugs in the slum district.

Zeu served five years and 20 days in prison and for the past three years has been at large after being granted parole under what is known as the semi-open system (in which a convict is allowed to come and go from prison) and then fleeing, according to the newspaper O Globo.
